Marshall, MO December 18, 2006 – Missouri Valley Community Action Agency (MVCAA) launched its first annual fund campaign with a $1,500.00 lead gift from Mike Keith Insurance, of Clinton, MO. A 10 year partner with MVCAA, Mike Keith Insurance offers auto, home, business, life, and health insurance through its offices in Warrensburg, Higginsville, Odessa, Clinton, Belton, and Butler.

Headquartered in Marshall, MO, and serving seven local counties, MVCAA is a non-profit agency whose mission is to engage communities and focus resources to end poverty. To help ensure the success of their first fund drive, MVCAA’s Executive Director, Ann Graff, made several personal requests for lead gifts. “I decided to approach Mike Keith to help us kick off our first annual fund campaign,” said Graff, “because he believes in our mission and has a long history of giving back to the community.”

Keith hopes to make his contribution to MVCAA part of a multi-year pledge. “I believe in their cause, and I know they do good work,” said Keith about MVCAA. “It’s all about building relationships. They really care about the people they help, and in that way our organizations are alike.”

MVCAA’s first annual fund drive also included a mass mailing to past donors and individuals they hope will become supporters. MVCAA’s Director of Fund Development, Michael Bachop, solicited the support of 1,400 key individuals in the community to help raise funds to cover operating costs. “I’m hopeful we’ll get a nice response from the community,” said Bachop. “It’s vital that our innovative, effective services remain available to the thousands of individuals and families who need them. But we can’t do it alone; we need the help of the community.”
